Our Goal: Correcting the Injustice for all Arizona Residents
At Justice in Arizona, our goal is simple yet transformative: to correct the injustice that Arizona Public Service is not just and reasonable with it's rates and services. Electricity is a basic necessity, especially in our desert climate where extreme heat can endanger lives, yet many families are burdened with exorbitant energy bills or face power shut-offs. We are committed to ending these injustices and building an energy system that serves the community, not corporate profits. Like Connecticut, JIA will form a coalition in AZ to help correct this injustice for the APS customers, including the Governor, Legislature, Attorney General, District Attorney, and the Court of Public Opinion.
Our Vision for Arizona
JIA envisions a state where we have just and reasonable rates and services for all of it's customers:
Electricity is Accessible and Affordable: Every family has access to reasonably priced energy without fear of losing power.
Utilities Operate Transparently: Companies are held accountable for fair practices, free from monopolistic abuse and hidden fees.
Consumers Have a Voice: Decisions about energy policies reflect the needs of the people, not corporate interests.
How We’re Making It Happen
To achieve this vision, we focus on three core strategies:
Advocating for Legislative Change: We are working to build support for laws that enforce fair pricing, transparency, and accountability in the energy sector.
Pushing for Stronger Regulation: By demanding better oversight, we aim to eliminate exploitative practices and ensure utilities are operating justly.
Strategic Legal Action: When necessary, we take utilities to court to challenge unfair practices and recover damages for affected families.
